You have been a model railroading hobbyist for many years now, but have never had such an extensive knowledge database system to provide you with all variety's of information about the hobby, the trains and model railroading in general. Yes, you probably have a rough idea about the basics, and could look up information and terms in the general dictionary or encyclopedia, and of all of those web sites spread out all over a World Wide Web. But until now there has not been a completely organized information database that is especially designed to accurately provide you with an exact overlook and information about any subject of the hobby.

Introducing T.R.A.C.E.™ a computerized Train Resource Archive and Categorized Encyclopedia written collaboratively by hobbyists. It is the only program that provides you with a complete informational system about the hobby! Based on advanced database technology and hobbyists feedback, we created a personalized knowledge based and information center for model railroading and trains in general.

There is nothing else like it!

The T.R.A.C.E.™ is a an open content, community-built encyclopedia with thousands of articles on topics from A to Z (keeping in mind your data base may differ from others depending on the information you choose to share and or download alike.) That means that you can add to your information system from your own or other colleague’s knowledge and experience. For example, your friend told you about this historical steam engine construction that he participated in the 1950’s. He provided you with accurate written details and even had some old photos to scan and add to the record. Now you can add this one time, historical event, including authentic images into your knowledge base system! Another example, you always wanted to know how to install DCC (Digital Command Control) decoders inside a locomotive. Now you can document the entire procedure and record it within T.R.A.C.E.™, including images and photos. Using the ‘Export feature you can publish your selected information topics to share it with your model railroading colleagues (That are also using T.R.A.C.E.™) via the internet. In a similar way you can ‘Import’ other colleague’s information into your own database. In this way you are capable of building your own, personalized, extensive information system about your hobby. With the years, you and your model railroading colleagues have the potential to build an entire, robust encyclopedia and resource center to provide you with any piece of information about the hobby and trains in general.   

What does T.R.A.C.E.™ do?

T.R.A.C.E. ™ is an advanced resource and knowledge base center for model railroaders. The program was specially designed to keep records of model railroading and general information. Furthermore, with T.R.A.C.E. ™ you can store definitions, terms, procedures and any other desired information like Function, Description, etymology, obsolete and up to five (5) images per term to create your own archive and computerized encyclopedia. The system allows the user to add, remove or modify records. One of the advanced features of the program is the capability to import and export selected records, to be shared with colleagues via the internet. New information is continually updated, with the creation or updating of articles within seconds, minutes or hours, rather than months or years for printed encyclopedias. Users are capable of sharing their information with other model railroaders also using T.R.A.C.E.™ by simply exporting the desired information. This information is available for download through the T.R.A.C.E.™ web page. T.R.A.C.E.™ Alerts users about the existence of new information that is available for download. Users may review the available, shared information and add it to their own personal database. In this way the knowledge base system will be growing with the years to become an extensive encyclopedia.

One of the main advantages that T.R.A.C.E.™ offers is the categorization capability. Users may categorize their information database by creating un-limited amounts of categories and sub-categories of topics to efficiently organize their information. For Example: to store a detailed description about DCC (Digital Command Control), including images, user may create a category named: DCC and create items into it. Another Example: In order to document complete information about the Steam Engine, including images, user may create a top category named: Train Propulsion Methods. Underneath this category user may create a sub-category named: Steam Engine and record the term and description in it, including photos and images.

T.R.A.C.E.™ offers the creation of an un-limited amount of categories and sub-categories to efficiently maintain your information. This advanced feature enables you to store all of your topics according to their classification. The only limitation is the size of your hard drive. A typical sized hard drive (80GB, 160GB) contains millions of terms and descriptions.

The software provides a simple to use reporting system and print method to maintain hard copies of records. The software comes with a built-in tutorial and on-line help.

T.R.A.C.E.™ is knowledge database collection that is easy to manage, and easy to view. One of the most important aspects of the program is its simplicity! We especially focused on making it easy and user friendly. Not for Computer Engineers only...
